What is latex?

Latex is a white, milk-like liquid - a mixture of rubber particles in water. Latexco uses two types of latex: natural and synthetic latex.

 Latex

Natural latex is the juice of the tropical rubber tree, the Hevea Brasiliensis, which is cultivated on the plantations in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia), parts of Africa (Cameroon) and South America (Brazil). Synthetic latex is made from oil.

The majority of the natural latex that is harvested each year, is used in tyres, surgical gloves and condoms. In addition, it is used, for example, in mattresses and pillows.

Latexco mostly integrates a mixture of natural and synthetic latex in its products, thereby maximizing the benefits of both types. Natural latex ensures an incomparable resilience and feels soft. Synthetic latex guarantees a greater stability in the manufacturing process. Some of our mattresses are made of all-natural latex.

Whatever the amount of natural latex, there is always one constant: Latexco only works with high-quality natural latex from selected and controlled plantations, which has been carefully tested before being used in the manufacturing process.
